Geoff mentioned the idea of a Revised Tournament at the last meeting and I think it is a great idea.
1) Who would be interested in a Tournament? SEE PARTICIPANTS BELOW.
2) What should the format be? ROUND ROBIN FORMAT(everyone plays everyone else once as Axis and once as Allies and the standings are determined by overall won/loss record)
3) What should the method be to determine who plays Axis and who plays Allies? RANDOM DRAW WITH FIDA BID OF 12

CURRENT PARTICIPANTS:
Andrew......... 2-0
Dennis.......... 1-0
Joe............... 0-2
Lynn............. 1-1
Mark............. 0-1

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

I can certainly see both sides of it. Lynn makes a good point that the tournament is more balanced if each player has a shot with both Axis and Allies against another player. On the other hand, I agree that it could drag on if there are a lot of participants. Perhaps we can get a final count of who is interested and go from there?

Also, regardless of how it is done, I would hate to see the tournament crowd out the regular, more casual games or become a turn off to new comers. I would like to have it run on the side of the main game, if that makes any sense.

Another matter is how do we end these tourney games in a reasonable time frame? For myself, if we cannot end them by midnight, I will probably need to bow out...

Number of games: So far we have 5 Players and if we get no more than 6 I would agree with Lynn and play both sides. My recommendation is to play no more than 1 game this Friday the 25th, if any, and if we have no more than 6 by the next session we would move to two games each.

Main Casual Game: I agree Joe. The Main Casual Game will get the BIG BOARD while any Tournament games would have the normal board. That being said I have only one game of Revised so if there is a chance we would play a Tournament game Friday than someone needs to bring another Revised game with them.

Time Frame: Dennis and I have both agreed to a 2am stop time for the games. Any game not finished by then will be recorded to be finished at the next session or the following one at the most. If anyone needs to leave earlier than that and they are playing a Tournament game then it will just have to be recorded until they can finish it later.

I deleted alot of redundant or obsolete posts in the interest of keeping the boards from becomming too long windedshock.I have also added a file on the Tournament results specifically which keeps track of who played who, when, bid placements, and of course resultsbiggrin.

Well now that Rick and Geoff have bowed out of the Tournament (wasn't this Geoff's idea?) I would agree with Lynn that we should play each other twice; once as the Axis and once as the Allies. That would give us a total of 8 games in total to play. Unless anyone is really against the idea I think we should adopt it as the new format.

Also I am updating the total results but since Dennis has created a file to track the details I see no reason to also track the details here.
