Very entertaining 12 VC game. Thanks to all who participated. Stuart ends on a high note with that elusive 12 VC Axis win! You will be missed.

NO= National Objectives...extra money for taking and holding certain territories (see rulebook), Dardanelles is the strait seperating the Black sea from the Med, it was closed by Turkey during the war so no ships could enter or leave the Black Sea. E&I is fighter escorts and interceptors, basically allowing fighter to defend or attack incomming strategic bombers(see the last 2 pages of the FAQs for AA50 in the usefel links message thread). It will be great to have you with us again Julio.

Really looking forward to playing AA50 tonight! I'm doing my best to get up to speed with the new rules and board. Can HQ clue me into what NO, Dardanelles and E&I represent (Thanks Dennis). See everyone tonight for Fun Dice and Mayhem.

Sure I'll play Italy. Unless I am really really wanted on both boards, I think I'll stick to one since my small brain could only concentrate on one game at a time. :)

The Big board game may run longer than the 2nd game , so if you've got plansin the morning , you may want to play on the 2nd board.

Big board will be 42,NOs and Tech on, E&I, Dardanelles closed and a 13 VC winning condition. 2nd board will be 41 with no NO's, Dardanelles open, E&I, and a 12 VC winning condition.

Poll has been reopened, I dont know why it closed like that so quick. The Rank file was meant as a way to keep track of wins(notice losses arent mentioned) for statistical purposes like you said Stoob, I just added the military rank as flavoring for our war game group none of it was ever meant to be taken seriously, as the disclaimer onthe rank page says"These Rankings are meant for entertainment purposes".

thanks dennis for the thoughts. the poll is closed so i couldn't vote. IMHO rankings don't me uncomfortable so long as the rankings aren't taken too seriously. I just prefer a lighthearted vibe to game time. I don't mind keeping track of wins/losses for each player just for statistical purposes i think that's interesting

I have put up a new poll on the topic of Ranking as i've had comments from several players, some like it some dont, so if the majority dont like it, I will remove it.Pleas take the poll when you get the chance.

point taken Stu, the rank system i've been useing is loose at best as it doesnt take into account experience level of each team member..its more for an overly generalized guage of how experienced a player is than how good they are, and as such not to be taken too seriously. A real rank system would only be good for 1 on 1 games. So for now just ignore them if uncomfortable (pay no attention to tha man behind the curtain). Hope this eases your discomfort, Den

OK I am up for playing the 1941, 12 VC game with no NO's. ANd I don't mind playing Italy so others could play the bigger richer countries (Imperialist Pigs!) :)

As for Table 1: I would prefer 42, E&I, Closed Dardenelles, NOs and Tech on (the full monty) as I believe it to be the most balanced. However, am willing to go with majority vote.

If we used my rank system the games would be: Table 1-Alex, Mojo,Joe,Dennis,Andy H. then Dan (if 6) Table 2-Dan (if table 1 is 5 man), Stoob, Vasily, Matt, Julio, Erik S. So if you have your 41 12vc game Stoob, yourself ,Dan and/or Vasily would be Axis while Matt, Julio, and Erik would be the Allies...probably a pretty fair game as long as the Dardanelles are closed.

i'm up for a 41 12VC game with no NOs. Since Andrew seems to thing this is hard one to win for the Axis, and he's usually right, maybe we should open the dardanelles. whoever is perceived as the best players (whether this be through Dennis' ranking system or just a vote) should be put on Axis. The Axis have to be able to work together well and both know what they are doing. I feel like random team assignment isn't going to work for the 12 VC game.

I'm thinking possibly 2 tables of AA50, but I need another person who has aa50 to bring their copy (Mojo or Stoob?) .Also i'm thinking the players will be divided by rank, as in the top 5 or 6 ranked players will be on 1 table and the lower ranked (or unranked) players will be on the second. Hows that sound to you guys? War on! Dennis

a great bunch of guys playing a great game. this is really the best axis and allies group i've ever played with, fun courteous people who are good at the game
    •  Has a great time. First time with this group, but all I can say is WOW!!! Dennis, did a great job of hosting and everyone was really nice and cool. All round good time. Can't wait until the next game night.
    •  Great turnout and great games! Welcome back Julio, and welcome to te group Erik.
    •  Last night's games were quite enjoyable. Both tables were playing the same version of A&A, but with very different strategic developments. At one table Britain and Russia had to contend with Germany while Japan and the USA both built up immense fleets to contend for the Pacific; meanwhile the Axis overran Africa and sent a combined fleet into the Indian Ocean. At the other table, Japan's 2nd turn acquisition of long-range aircraft allowed her to dominate the Pacific & Indian Oceans and upset Briatin and America's plans to distract her with a factory complex on Australia; meanwhile the Allied conquest of North Africa as stepping stone into France meet a stumbling block when the surviving Italian cruisers annihilated the American Fleet to scotch a folow-up invasion wave. Japan's uppercut into the Caucasus and Germany's massed panzer assault on Moscow were the one-two punch that eliminated the Soviet Union from the game for an Axis Victory.
    •  Great evening of friendly warfare. As always, Dennis does a great job hosting. It's good to be back on the battlefield.
