This was a very balanced game. The IPC production were very close - not lopsided as many games with NO's. There were battles fought all over the world! US and Japanese fleets facing off in the Pacific, and German, Italian, US and UK fighting all over Africa. Of course, there were also battles galore in Asia and Europe - Russian tanks fighting against Italians in TransJordan and Russian tanks fighting the Japanese in India... Doesn' that sound exciting!

nice games. I like the 12VC, 41, no NO scenario. I think it's worth playing again

Sorry guys. Once again I am going to be unable to attend. If this keeps up, I am going to have to change my name to something more appropriate. Something like... "Captain Africa!" See ya next time.

Also if we want two games of AA50 someone needs to bring a second set. :)

actually, the VC condition is counted at the end of a complete round of play according to the rulebook, so certainly after the first round of 1941 by the end of the USA turn, the Axis will have taken away a few VCs from the allies. If not, they deserve to lose. :-)

The 12 VC game would have to be the 1942 version since the Allies already start with 12 VC in the 1941 version... So the Allies don't even have to play there - just win... ;)

Dennis, your wish has been granted. Forgive my wordy ramblings and lack of statistics, I'm tired. http://www.axisandallies.or... Great game all of you.

Anyone wanna try Dan's idea of a 12 VC game with no NOs? Win or lose, I guarantee it will be shorter than 14 rounds like our game.... :-)

wow what a PBEM game, phew. I think Andrew's strategic number crunching plus Andy's innovative ideas and incredible rolling were game winners. Me? Well I just tried to not get my fleet sunk, and pulled it out in the stretch....

I think a bid of 3 for NO's is probably about right. Then subtract 1 if the Escort/Interceptor rule is used and add 1 if the Dardenelles Closed rule is used. So using both optional rules would yield a bid of 3 still. We started at 4 and stayed at 4 with the two rules but I think 4 is still a tad much. I would not go less than 3 though. :)

Dennis, I think the $1 reduction in N.O.s helped the Allies a little bit. But the Escort/Interceptor rules helped the Axis way more. PBEM game still going strong...

Calling Andy's dice TOTALLY GREAT is an insult to his dice. They were SPECTACTULAR dice. :-)

Sounds like a great game! Let me know the final result when it happens. Do you think that the $1 reduction for NOs made that big of a difference? War On! Den

great night, great group, great games.
    •  As usual friendly people having a good time playing Axis and Allies. Good group and good play! Thanks to everyone for coming. :)
    •  Great game on the Revised board. Very close -- a few tactical errors (by -- ahem -- me) ultimately did in the Axis!
