The lineup so far: On Fortress America (big board): Evan, Curtiss, Andy, OPEN SLOT. On AA50 (big board): Dan, Rick, Julio, Vasily, Neil D., Lynn. On Attack!: Dennis, Matt, Joe, Erik, Andrew, OPEN SLOT. So we have an open slot in all 3 games for late rsvps.

Hey Julio! I have no preference - could play any power in AA50. The rules suggested by Dennis (NO's, Dardenelles, etc) could work. Could give them a try depending on other people's preference.

Sounds good to me Den. Hey Dan, Rick, Gregg and Neil; you guys on board with rules layed out in previous post (41, NO's at 3 and 6, Dardanelles closed etc)? Anyone have a preference for which country they wanna play, or is it too soon for pickin teams?

Just uploaded quick and dirty rules for Attack! in the files section. Unless Dan,Rick,Julio, Gregg or Neil have any objections I shall have the AA50 big board set up for a 1941 version.

Andrew, they (eagle games) have not put out the new revised rules online yet, but they are substantially different from the basic and old expansion rules....they have been simplified and balanced out to make it a much more playable game. There are still 2 openings on the Attack game, so if you want to switch for sure, email me so i can update the "Lineup" . War on! Dennis

It sounds like you don't need my AA50 game or Big Board now. ;) I would be interested in playing Attack! too. I see on the Eagle Games there is a Basic and Expansion ruleset. I can't find the Deluxe one. Can you link it Dennis?

I would not say Attack starts in 39, its more like Risk with heavy WW2 flavoring. The powers arent named and all start out with the same number of each unit but slightly different technologies and the game ends after the first capitol falls or a set number of years have been played (6,9,12).See the entry on page 2 of the "Games of interest" message thread. The link to the Boardgamegeek page is there also (just click the "Attack deluxe" in that thread.

Given I have not yet played AA50 before, I don't mind playing attack depending on the group consensus, this starts in 1939, is it just the usual 5 powers or is France, China, Italy seperate?

I would definitely be in for trying 'Attack!' if there is enough interest.

Listen up Troops! If I can get 3 to 5 attendees up for checking out the new "Attack!" game, we could all be on "BigBoards" as this game comes with its own oversized map.Based on the world just before WWII broke out, all players start relatively even. The game uses A&A type units with a "Conquest of the Empire" type battlesystem w/custom dice, and a "Risk" type purchasing and winning system. After briefing over the new rulebook, it really looks as if this game could become 1 of our favs. LMK!

Like I said, I will play whatever is available, it has been too long, but given my WWII addiction, if possible would like to give AA50 a shot and will again take whatever power is left over, I have never played it cant wait to see that board!

Yes. In one extreme, with full NO's, the Axis always win (I think) while without any NO's, the Allies always win. So I guess the balanced game could be playing with partial NO's.

After reviewing our AA50 games played and their conditions, It appears to me as though the 1941 setup with NOs at 3 and 6 ipcs instead of 5 and 10,Tech on, Dardanelles closed, escorts/interceptors on, and a 12 or 13 VC condition would seem a pretty balanced and action packed game.Thoughts?

    •  I also would definitely be willing to try Attack! again. Came in third and still had a lot of fun. You can really play your own game within the game, and everyone was more or less in it to the end. I was so engrossed/involved that I barely noticed the other great games going on outside. Thank you Dennis and Mrs. Dennis for hosting this event.

       Friendly people and fun game!
    •  Once again, Dennis hosted a great game night. Thanks to him and his family for allowing us to play at the house. "Attack" is alot of fun. The democracy game out on top with the commies a close second. Thanks to everyone for a very fun night.
    •  Great company and great gaming! The Attack! table was very fun and interesting. I can see us playing that game more. What I saw of the other games they were great too. As usual Dennis was a great host! :)
    •  Thanks for a great turnout gentlemen. Another excellent evening of plastic mayhem.
    •  It turned out I was the one most familiar with the game at our Fortress America table (which was not very) so I ended up playing the USA while Eric played the Southern invader and Andy played both East & West invaders, as we were short-handed. We kept discoverinhg new rule ramifications during the course of the game, but the learning curve tended to favor the defense and I wound up the consensus winner (by a hair). Not sure how Dennis & Andrew's game of 'Attack' went in the inner sanctum, but the 6-player 50th Anniversary A&A game next to ours in the garage was still up in the air when I left. Germany and Italy were being seriously squeezed and Japan had a big income but difficulty bringing it into action against the USSR quick enough. Oracle's prediction: the Allies pulled it off in the end.
    •  AA 50 with limited NO's appears to be well balanced. Dice were really unkind and axis still had a fighting chance until late.
    •  It was interesting to learn a new board game
