Dennis, I don't think this game was a fair test of the 3/6 NO adjustment. Japan's luck was so bad and Germany's so good that the game became very weird. Even though it was a close game, it was not at all normal, if that makes sense.

Because of this Russia was alone against Germany and it looked like it was a race to kick Japan off the Asian Mainland vs Germany taking out Russia. So when Russia beat back the Germans on Turn 4 and the UK had its fleet rebuilt by then and Japan was eliminated from the Asian Mainland it was over. If the Germans could have taken Russia it would have been anyone's game but they failed.

Well thanks to some lucky Tech it was touch and go for a couple of Rounds. Due to a really poor J1 (Japan lost 4 fighters and had multiple ship losses) the Allies went all out against the Jap Navy during R1 as Joe explained. Therefore by the end of R1 Japan had just one BB left to guard the Pacific. It should have been a wipe-out at that point but on G2 the Germans rolled Long Range Aircraft and suddenly 5 additional fighters were able to reach the UK Fleet and it was promptly sunk.

Please let me clear up any confusion. We were only going to play Tide of Iron if Dennis came as he has the game, I do not. At the moment we are playing AA50 and we have six Players though I may have two guests coming too. Joe can you bring your Revised Board so we can have two games on a Big Board?

Hey Dennis! If you are up for it why don't you bring Tide of Iron; I would love to play again 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2. :)

Nice setting and very friendly people playing AA50!
    •  On the 42 Board: Heavy losses for Japan on Round one gave an opening for the US in the Pacific. A counter attack on Hawaii, raid on the Japan Sea by America and a counter attack in the Indian Ocean by Britain, left Japan with only a submarine and a battleship after round 1! However, Germany rolled long range aircraft tech on round 2 and promptly sunk the British Navy that turn. So, while the US set up to MacArthur the Japanese holdings in the East, German tank and infantry hoards backed up by air advanced towards Moscow which was suffering under long range bombing raids. Italy's Africa campaign stalled while Britain struggled to rebuild a fledgling fleet round 3. On round 4 the USSR saw an opening against exposed German Infantry and attacked Belorussia. The Germans opted to counter attack, and won, but at the cost of almost their entire stack of Tanks. With the British fleet back in action, Moscow safe and Japan nearly besieged, the Axis conceded at the end of US 4.
    •  A very interesting game on the Big Board. Due to a really poor rolling J1 the Allies were able to, I think for the first time, have a successful US Pacific Strategy. On the other board the Allies finally triumphed after a hard fought campaign. Thanks to all that came and I hope you had fun!
