For those of you that even bother to look at the ranks, this is the current system:

1.A "zeroing out" will occur the 1st of each year. Games played and wins columns will be zeroed for "Ranked" members.Any unranked members that become ranked (get their 5 games in) will come in at their 5 game rank.

2.If a player challenges a player of higher rank (actual rank, not numerical value) to a 1 on 1 game and wins, he will be awarded 2 games and 2 wins.If higher ranked player wins, he recieves the normal 1 game, 1 win.

3.I was thinking of maintaining a "hidden" long term record of wins but I think the overall results page does that nicely enough and I will just add a new page to the excell file for each year for those who like to bask in the glory of their past.

4.Games not finished in 1 meetup will have 1 of the following 3 resolutions:
....A. At least 1 player from each side agreees to continue the game at a future meetup.Game stats will be recorded and game will be considered "In Play".Players who do continue the game and win will recieve credit for 2 games, 2 wins, losers will recieve credit for 1 game, 0 wins.Players not wishing to continue will get no credit for the game for ranking purposes (0 game,0 win).
....B. All players agree to a "Draw" and are awarded half a win each for ranking purposes(1 game,.5 win).
....C. All players agree to have the entire club poll (game status "Polling") to decide a winner (1 game, 1win).A draw will result if neither side recieves more than 50 percent of votes.

5.Title of "Top Gun" will be awarded to the player with the highest win ratio (actual value, not rank) at the end of each year.Player must have a minimum of ten games played during the year to be eligible for the "Top Gun" title.

War on! biggrinDennis

I have put up a new poll on the topic of Ranking as i've had comments from several players, some like it some dont, so if the majority dont like it, I will remove it.Please take the poll when you get the chance.wink
